A
Brief History of Studio Plus
Studio Plus was
set up when John was still at university.
In 1984 the business changed dramatically. Out of an incidental
opportunity, we won the contract to provide photographers to the
Mecca Leisure banqueting chain in the City. Mecca were the dominant
force in London banqueting and, by gaining exclusive rights, Studio
Plus became one of the major players in the country, overnight.
The next big step was the West End. With an international reputation
to protect, London hotels were wary of new players. They were competing
with the best in the world, and had to be persuaded, one by one,
to give us a try. The fact that Studio Plus were introducing innovative
ways and had changed the way photography was done, made them even
more cautious.
But time had come for the old ways to die. New, dynamic corporations
and entrepreneurs expected fresh air, efficiency, quality, productivity.
And so, eventually, Studio
Plus became official suppliers to all major venues.
New services were introduced more recently, after demand from clients
for repeat business in related areas.
Now, in the age of digital imaging, it is easier to be good technically,
if not creatively, and some are. But Studio Plus stands out for
its professionalism, reliability and, above all, understanding each
client's different needs.
A Quick Update:
We have decided to leave the look of this
website unchanged. The business was established in 1978, the internet
came along later, and design trends and fashions keep changing,
but this is how we look familiar to our
old friends. Studio Plus is going strong, and we provide the
same services, updated to more modern needs, even though John has
been a full time author
and writer for several years now. We value old and new relationships
and nothing will change that.
